Sunday, December 4, 2011 - Our first post in some time, but it's relevant, as little Bubelah is experiencing all kinds of firsts himself. Our yearly visit to Brazil approached really fast this year, as in the weeks prior we were all over the place visiting family in dallas, friends in houston, thanksgiving, etc.
I started to become more and more anxious for our first real travel with bube on December 1.. This would be the first time he'd fly on a plane (and 13 hours worth of flight time no less), the first time he'd see a new country, the first time he'd meet any of Ana's family, etc. Since we always have a layover in Rio for like 10 hours, we decided instead to stay a night in Rio with Ana's cousin and his family - Paulo & Keila, and their kids Rafael and Hugo - then head to Fortaleza the next night.
This would be a lot of travel, a lot of disruption to little bube's daily schedule, and tons of stimulation. I was excited for all of this for him but nervous at the same time. Would he scream the entire flight? Would he hate moving all of the time and having no schedule? Would he freak out about all kinds of new people interacting with him all the time?
