San Fransisco 3

Thursday, April 9, 2008 - Today I had my weekly conference call at 7:00 and then left for the starbucks I saw nearby. It looked huge when we drove past it before! I realized when I got to it that it was huge, because it was part of the larger Wells Fargo bank there. Not exactly where I hoped to be working from in San Fran, but who cares.

I told my boss yesterday that it just hit me that I was 1) In San Fransisco, 2) With 2 women, 3) From Brazil. Life could be worse.

After work, I met back up with the girls and we went a'walkin. We went to "Alamo Square" and walked around all the little Victorian houses. Afterwards, we opted for a stark contrast in going to Haight/Ashbury. After we all dropped acid and smoked our meth, we wen- I mean, after we walked around for a while, we stopped into the "Magnolia" pub. They had all sorts of Microbrews that were named after songs by Grateful Dead, Phish, Widespread Panic, and so on. Pretty cool - good beer too.

There was a mural on a wall within the Haight/Ashbury area that made me stop, look, and grin. I find it interesting how much Christianity is wrapped up in the Hippie movement, and especially Reggae. I took a pic of the mural, which was a quote from a Bob Marley song, which of course hippies love. But I wonder, would they dig as much if they knew much of Bob's stuff (as well as Reggae in general) is scriptural? This Marley quote is from Mark 8:36 and Luke 9:23. Zion is of course a reference to the City of David in Israel.

After Haight, we drove over to the San Fran coast for some sights. Then, Karine took us to an authentic Brittany French Creperie. Crepe appetisers, crepe entrees, and crepe desserts. Wow. Thanks Karine!
